Walnuts
I make half and full walnut shell designs. For half shells I sand the inside for a smoother surface. For the hinged shells I take a walnut and shell it. I sand the inside and drill holes in both halves of the walnut and connect them via a small hinge. I use superglue to secure the screws. This is the tricky part with a working space of a maximum 2mm as it is vital to ensure no glue gets on the hinge itself.
Acorns & Pistachio Shells
I use acorns to make micro mini scenes. I remove the front of the acorn and smooth out the inside. I then glue it to a wood slice base and begin work.
